A bit of upcycleing

One plain pale blue wool cardigan + one tatty chair back cover with nice lace'
Cut out a few of the flowers, luckily these were easy to detach, fiddle around until your happy and then carefully stitch the on.
Nothing fancy, but I know theres only one around :)
what do you think of my first effort ?
It seems ages since I was on here, school has been been busy but I have a day off on Monday and then it's almost the Easter hols, so I.m not complaining.
A couple more brooches to hoard, there doesen't seem to be much around these days.
I'm looking forward to getting out to the bootfairs, I might even sell some clutter treasure. I really need to recycle some stuff.
Well thats all for now, I have taken more pics of the baby pigs, they haven't grown too much so they are still cute.
The weather here is so lovely at the moment it seems to make everyone feel better, and I can put my washing on the line at last :)
wishing you all a lovely weekend
bye for now Cate x

Pretty vintage lamp

Just popping in to show you this lovely little 50's lamp my daughter bought last week I had ummd and ahhd about it for a couple of days, I hadn't mentioned it to her, funny how we go for the same things.
It's red at the base but has a pale pink shade and is operated by a battery. I can just imagine it in some little girls room in the 40's or 50's.
The next three pics are a bit random I took them just because I thought  they looked nice, I tend to take these pics when I'm on my own as I do get some strange looks, you would think they would be used to my blogging  by now :)

These were found in the pantry when we moved in years ago. I'm glad I kept them.
My lovely husband bought these for me, he knows how much I like ducks, they are nodding salt and pepper pots.
Well that's all for now, I am doing ok with the homework so this is my time off for good behaviour :)
bye for now, hope your all enjoying the weekend.

Buttons and Bows

"Why are you taking pictures of buttons"?  I was asked "because" I said.

Now I know you all love buttons as much as I do, these are a few of the ones that were given to me through a collegue at school, sadly the elderly lady who had them can't see any more and asked my collegue if there was anyone she knew who might want them, only bloggers would understand my thrill when I got them home.
I have split them between my tins, the heart shaped tin is rather old now, it had Roses chocolates in it.
When my daughter was young she would sit for ages just going through the tin, she now blames me for her obsession with all things Vintage. I sometimes wonder what it would be like to have a house home thats easy to clean through lack of junk treasure. I also have a few other tins of things, one being ribbons, I can't ever throw ribbon  away even the bits off our Christmas Crackers went in the tin how sad is that?

and last some of my lace, I do use some on my brooches almost reluctantly :)
I feel the tablcoth come doily collection is getting a bit out of hand, but I can't stop, I buy them with the intention of unpicking the lace to use, but never do.
Do you have a problem ? go on tell,  it will make you feel better, I promise.
 And finaly
Back to reality next week half term over.
Have a good where ever you are and thanks for listening to my rambling

No more snow please, it's half term

At last a week off not that much will get done it's so cold out there, it does look pretty though. I popped out this morning to take a pic of the icicles on the garage, they seem to get longer every day.
I couldn't  get a picture of them all which is a shame.

A few snowy pictures for all of you having a heatwave.
Our birdbath is in there somewhere
We have been feeding the birds this morning, you can always tell when the sea is rough the seagulls come swooping into the garden like the bullies they are, grabbing all the food.
I saw this on google and it just about sums them up.
I will have to spend some of this week catching up on course work, so may not get the chance to post again, unless of course something major happens like a freak heatwave :)
I am at the moment under the duvet with a hottie and am likely to stay here for the rest of the week.
It's great a cup of tea has appeared as if by magic, I could get used to this.
Wherever you are have a lovely weekend. and hi to my new followers if I haven't said it already.
bye for now
