Heads or Tails

I thought I would share some pictures of Zara I think her head is on the ?.

Sooooo tired, she normally puts her head under the covers to block out the light.

I'm off to the beach tomorrow for a treasure hunt with my Rainbows. I have a bit of a suprise for them if the weather is calm they may get to go on the water, just on the edge in a dinghy, we are only a stones throw from the  local sailing club and luckily for us a Rainbows mum is in charge, so we get to use it for free.

On Thursday my class also has a beach trip, we walk there which takes about twenty mins, last year it was so windy and cold, we have a competion to see who can find the best things, I was lucky and found a star fish, we also go crabbing and generally have a good time, we have lunch near the beach and after a very tiring day we get a bus back to school.
I will try and take some pics as its such a lovely wild area renound for its marshes and sea birds if nothing else I should sleep well for the next couple of days.
I hope your all enjoying your week bye for now

An early walk

5:30am saw Zara and I on the beach for an early walk before it got too hot.I like this time of the morning when there is no one about just the sea and the birds.
You can just see a lone yacht in the distance.

On the right is a small nature reserve island which you can walk over to at low tide once a year.

Do you fancy a paddle ?

                                                                Time to go home

                                                                    An early bird

I had a good time at the Sat boot fair and got a few things, a large tin bowl to put plants in and yet more plates :) when I get a chance I will post them, untill then I hope you all have a good week.
bye for now

weekend

I HOPE YOU HAVE ALL HAD A GOOD WEEK

I had to work with the reception class today I had a lovely time playing in the sand, sitting on the floor wasen't fun though :)
Being so young I know they don't realise how lucky they are that we have such a beautiful garden, a wildlife pond and lots of trees, I hope one day they will look back and remember all these things and smile.
This is part of the rear garden at the back is a small wood.

I managed to keep them quiet just long enough to see one of the many squirrels in the garden.

                 We had strawberries for snack

I enjoyed my visit sometimes its nice to do something different.

Have a lovely weekend whatever you do    Cate x

Thank Crunchie it's Friday

What a week, I managed to get my homework done by the skin of my teeth.

I have been rediagnosed with the original illness my G.P. thought I may have about a year ago, in fact I've probably had it for years  my first  G.P. gave up on me. I have been taking high doses of steroids this week (as a guinea pig) and they have made me feel so much better, on a good day I have lots of energy.(funny side effect though see below) This illness it seems is rather rare its called becets if anyones heard of it I would love to hear from you.

I also dropped the camera last night, not on the lawn but the path, looks like its unuseable, now I know why they have little cords to hang on too or to put around your neck.

Maybe I should get this one next.

I came out of work and had left my lights on all day, da da no battery, anyone know where I can get one of these : )

Daughter has just decided to bake and guess what we have no eggs, now when we had ducks we always had a couple of eggs around the place, if she gets a move on she can catch the local shop down the road and we may still get something yummy for after tea, as long as it has lots of calories  I don't mind.

I did have a small slice of coffee cake today, at school we all bring in cakes for  birthdays, in fact for anything, it's so tempting and I can't resist coffee cake I think I might make one this weekend, I always seem to end up making what everyone else likes, does anyone else do that ?

D is rather partial to apple pie with custard, I think this is a bit of a winter dish, something to stick to your ribs and keep you warm, but I suppose it could be cold with ice cream, looks like I'll have to use the apples after all.

I think we may do a bit of retail therapy tomorrow, hopefully whilst everyone else is watching the footy, knowing my luck the match will be at teatime.:)

I feel the need for a couple of nice magazines maybe
Country Living. I could get lost in here for hours.Or maybe I should just re-read the ones I have next to the bed.We have a stall on one of the  markets we go to where you can buy  remaindered mags  3 for £1:60p sometimes they are still in date, this is why I.have so many.
I have been looking for theAmercan thrift mags but have had no joy.

Before I go I had a couple of  belated Birthday presents

Thanks Barbara for the pink bag it's a bit like this but nicer.
and Thanks Suzanne for the sweets etc.

Well I hope I haven't bored you to tears it's been such a  strange week I really needed a place to waffle a bit SO if your still with me THANK YOU for your time and for listening. Normal service will  resume next week.

Have a lovely weekend everyone

TREASURED TIPS FOR JUNE

      HERBS AND VINEGAR

Fill a small jar with washed dried herbs such as basil, thyme, lemon balm experiment with your favourites. Pour over white vinegar to the brim, put the lid on tight and place your jars on a window sill out of direct sunlight for a month, giving them a good shake everyday. After a month strain off into small bottles or jars. These make lovely gifts don't forget to label and date. Enjoy!

 GENERAL PURPOSE CLEANER

Mix 2 pints of water with 4 teaspoons of bicarbonate  of soda and  half a cup of vineger, mix and keep in a spray bottle, this is much more cost effective than any major brand and better for the enviroment.

Would you like to contribute a Treasured Tip. We have 3 weeks of June left, lets see how many we can get. Cate x

Sunday 6 June 2010

I've made something at last

I will post a better pic later just wanted to get something on for now.

The rose box is lined with tiny rose paper and velvet, the heart box has a silk pouch inside. The green one has a local oyster shell and pearl with pearl feet.
2 are slightly aged with paint effect.

I will post some more larger boxes soon, any feedback would be a great help.
Thanks Cate X

come for a stroll

Daughter and I went for a very brisk walk with Zara these photo's don't really do justice to the speed of the wind or the salt spray in the face :) it really blew the cobwebs away.

We are very lucky to live near the marshes a haven for all different types of birds and a place of natural beauty.

This is on the other side of the sea wall the best of both worlds.

All the birds seem to be hiding from the wind I'll stop talking and let you enjoy the view.
On the right is the marshes divided from the sea by a narrow path.

A lovely wild rose shame about the photo

It's a bit chilly up here

I hope you enjoyed our little wander the weather is so changable here it's different everyday, hopefully the next walk will be warm and sunny.

How about a nice cup of tea.

                                                               and a piece of cake

                                           yes please mum
