It was so hot it made it difficult to take decent pictures but I hope this gives you all a glimpse of the show. I have been lucky enough to have been for the past 4 years not sure if this was as good as some of the others.
Made a small purchase as you do :)

If you are still here Thank You
My hubby is having a major op tomorrow if you would keep him in your thoughts I would be so grateful

What shall we call our fox?

I nearly forgot April.

Isn't this a lovely picture we used to have lots of thrushes in the garden.

Lots of these in the garden, very shy creatures, but can give a nasty bite.

We have a resident fox in our garden, he's a bit on the cheeky side and not really bothered too much by anything, our Saluki doesen't know what to make of it, the first time she jumped in the air with all four feet of the ground and made a strange bark, this afternoon we both stood and stared. Fantastic Mr/Mrs Fox looked us up and down and strolled around the garden ( we have lots of hidey holes) and then went off down the lane, what is strange it.s always late afternoon and early evening the daylight doesent seem to bother him.
This was a quick pic I took from the kitchen.
Hope you all have a Lovely Easter weekend wherever you are
Bye for now Cate x

Vintage March

Before March blows away I thought I would post some of my favourite pictures from Edith Holdens book  The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady.

I forget about this book for ages, it's always a nice suprise when I find it again.
We had a walk with the dog today and rescued some frog spawn. The water from a small pond had seeped onto the field in the heavy rains, it must have confused the frogs. Frog spawn was in the middle of a path drying out, we put it back in the pond, I almost lost my wellies, we can but try and help the wild life.
I have lots of wild violets growing in my garden, they spread easily and look so lovely everywhere.
All the birds in the garden seem to be getting excited strutting their stuff and showing off.
Hope you enjoyed these pics I will post more for April

Not another sewing box

Hello all
I found this lovely little sewing box on a boot fair last year but didn't really know what to do with it, at last it has a use. I have decided to try my hand at embroidery and this is the perfect size to hold thread etc. I feel justified in spending a whole 50p now.
The heart is my first attempt I think I may have delusions of grandeur, whole tablecloths and the like.
I took a few pics on my way into school last week
                    A Host of Golden Daffodils
This little boat is in the school garden
Daffodils are so cheerful
                                              SPRING HAS SPRUNG AT LAST
bye for now, keep smiling wherever you are.

Hello

It feels a bit strange being on here. I have finally finished my course and can't get used to having free time. It's been a long slog and I must have used up couple of trees worth of paper.

I have missed blogging, reading everyones news and I really need a fix of vintage splender from you all. Pinterest has kept me going for a while infact it has probably caused a few late pieces of course work along the way.

I had a trip back to my northern roots at the weekend to visit an elderly (104yrs)  relative in hospital. This shop made me laugh it was good to be back in the north :)

This is a pic taken in The Peak District not far from where we used to live I love this house its very Wuthering Heights.

looking forward to reading your news

Bye for now wherever you are
